My Best Friend Gave Me The Best Advice. . .

I got home from the pool a few mins ago and I am kinda ready to chill before work in the morning. I like work, don't get me wrong, but I like the pool a little more. I am going to be at the pool Wednesday and Saturday for most of the day. I guess I will be ok for the week. ;) Ok so moving on; the title of my blog. I downloaded the song "If Today Was Your Last Day" by Nickelback on Friday. Now I don't recommend going out and buying the album, or any album by Nickelback, but I do think this song is worth downloading or at least listening to. It's a great song that talks about how we need to live like today was our last day. There are soo many songs out there that talk about this concept but this one just seems to be a little more realistic. The first line in the song is the title for my post ("My best friend gave me the best advice") but the second line is one that I think is the most true, "He said each day is a gift and not a given right". That is totally true, each day is a gift, a gift from God, and we don't have an unlimited supply of days. It goes back to the song by Shane and Shane, "Arise". In this song it says "Teach me to number my days, at the most 80 years, who cares about meaningless things". I mean honestly, if "Today Was Your Last Day", are you going to be caring about the time when your best friend took the larger cookie. Umm I would hope not, but we don't know when our last day is. . . so we should treat each day like it is our last day, the last day of our life. This goes back to the song by Nickelback, in the song it asks the question "Could you say goodbye to yesterday?". This is not saying forget about the past, the good, its asking could you forget the small things in the past, the stupid stuff, the grudges you hold; because truthfully they don't matter. These small things are a waste. We spend too much time holding grudges, being mad at others for small stuff. "Would you forgive your enemies?" is another line from Nickelback. I mean it's easy to say, but is it easy to do knowing that right now, today was the last day you would be physically alive on earth. Would it just be simple to say "yes, I forgive all my enemies". I don't know, but it's something to think about. Hope you have a great day, treat it like it's your last. . =)

Off Work For The Day. .

So today I am off work and going to the pool. Pretty awesome huh? I'm pretty psyched about Summer Camp coming up, just F.Y.I. We showed a promo video on Sunday and even though I have seen the video about a million times I still went and downloaded the video on my laptop when I got home. Just call me crazy but I love the video. It's totally worth checking out the video. You need to watch the one titled "Type-Hype". So this year at camp there is gonna be Tomlin leading worship. The best worship leader in the world, in my opinion, well except Jason of course. =) Louie Giglio will be teaching and everyone knows that you can't listen to Louie teach and just walk away the same. So I know it's gonna be a pretty awesome week. Oh also, Crowder and Leeland will be having concerts on different nights throughout the week. So all in all its gonna be pretty exciting. Alright well I am off to the pool, figured I would kinda let people know what's going on. Talk to you later.

BTW David Crowder released a new single that is SUCH A GREAT SONG!!! I have included the lyrics below. It's worth downloading. =)

He is jealous for me,
Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree,
Bending beneath the weight of his wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden,
I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory,
And I realise just how beautiful You are,
And how great Your affections are for me.

And oh, how He loves us so,
Oh how He loves us,
How He loves us all

He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.
Yeah, He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.

We are His portion and He is our prize,
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes,
If grace is an ocean, we’re all sinking.
So Heaven meets earth like an unforeseen kiss,
And my heart turns violently inside of my chest,
I don’t have time to maintain these regrets,
When I think about, the way…

He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.
Yeah, He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.

Resting Up For Another Long Week. . .

So last week was pretty hectic, no time for blogging. With work and a surprise that I will explain in a sec., I had no time to blog. I worked 49 hours last week from Tuesday to Friday. IT WAS A LONG WEEK, to say the least. So yeah, the surprise, well anyway I wanted to surprise Kaleigh (my girlfriend) this week and see her because it has been like a month since I last saw her. We do talk on the phone and chat online, but because of work we have not had any time to get together. So, I decided that since she was leaving for camp on monday and I really wanted to see her, and there was no way that I could get off work for a whole day, I decided I would go to her church and see her. Well I asked my boss if I could get off a little early, talked to Johnny (her youth pastor) and it was all set. Dad said he would take me up to her church after we both got off work. I was a little nervous because we were a little late, but it couldn't have gone better. I walked in the church, up the stairs, and into the youth room and there she was on the front row. Ginger (the youth pastor's wife) went and told her that she thought "Stephen" was here. Kay said that there was no way and just brushed it off. Ginger insisted until she finally turned around and her eyes got sooo big, they would have made a softball look small. =) She was soo happy to see me and I was happy to see her too. We talked for a long time and I got to see her sing in person for the first time, she is SOO GOOD!! It was a great night and later she said that it was the best surprise of her life. That felt pretty cool. =D So she's going to camp next week with no cell; and OH THAT REMINDS ME. I love him to death but Jason announced today at church that there will be no cells or iPods on our camp trip either. I mean seriously. . . . . . . . ok I understand but I mean I want my phone and iPod. =P Goofy Jason. So monday through wednesday are gonna be kinda hectic at work because Corey is out of town with his girl. So I gotta make up for what Corey does. It's gonna be some big shoes to fill.

Well alright I am gonna go get some food and just chill before work starts again tomorrow. I am waiting on a call from Kaleigh but who knows when she will call. =P Have a good week, hopefully I can update you on things later in the week. ttyl

Wow. . . .

So it has been almost like. . . a long time since I've blogged. I know it sounds easy, "all you have to do is type", but it's not that easy. I remember when I used to bug Jason to get him to blog, and now finally when I have one of my own, I cant blog once a week. Ugh. Well hopefully I will start to fix that. It has just been soo busy these past few weeks. With work, church, and other misc. items that occupy my time (iMovie) I haven't had time. So anywho, I got home from work around 7:00 today, it has been a long wet day but I am home at a reasonable time, and it feels pretty good. I am off until Monday, calling it a long weekend. I want to put in as many hours that I can so that I can hopefully get me a truck. I am hoping to save up a lot then get a pretty cool Ford. Corey and I were talking today and he was telling me about his first car, hopefully I can find something along those lines. Well I am stinkin hungry, I have not eaten since like 1:00 today. So maybe there will be another post tonight, depending on whats going on. So ttyl
