Back From Camping. . .

Yeah so I know it's been a long time since I blogged and I know that is starting to become a normal excuse, but I have been soo busy. Just kind of checking in and I will hopefully be back tomorrow to tell some more of what is going on and what will be going on. But just to keep it short I bought a new camera, we went camping, and here are some of the pictures I took. Here is the link to the Photobucket album from our camping trip.

VBS Family Night

Alright so this is officially the first blog post coming from the sound booth at church. As of right now I am sitting in the back with Kaylee and Jonathan just chilling before the family night for VBS. I am praying that things will go good and that everything will go smooth. I was just handed the program for tonight and it looks like things will be a little hectic =P. Tomorrow will officially be the last day for VBS for the year and I am partly happy and partly sad. It has been a great week, got to know (Kaylee is looking over my shoulder right now critiquing my word usage) a lot of good kids and some crazy people. =P Hopefully tomorrow will be a quick day because I am soo stinking ready to go to the pool. So right now I am debating if I want to go to Walgreens or chill out here. The air is acting up and I am tired of random comments from me. If only the air would work then things would be more comfortable. Dad just walked up and I am going to work on getting the air fixed. Talk to you later. . .

Back From Daytona

So we are officially back from from Student Life Camp @ The Beach in Daytona, well we have been for several days. Sorry, I'm just a little slow at updating my blog. But, I have an excuse. . . I have been BUSY. I mean seriously Friday night I got home like @ 9:30, Saturday I had to work on the movie for camp to show to the church and Sunday I was at church all day setting up for VBS. Oh yeah VBS, so we are having VBS this week, just F.Y.I. Moving back to Daytona, it was an amazing week. God was there and everyone in that building I hope could feel Him. It was the most amazing feeling in the world just be sitting, standing, singing in the presence of God. Throughout the week God moved through soo many lives, and it was very obvious. So, now after after an amazing week at camp we have the wonderful week of VBS. ;) During VBS I am taking care of the sound, video and lighting for the entire week. I am praying that this is going to be a smooth week at VBS. I will try my best to leave another post in the next couple of days. Have a good rest of the week. . .ttyl.

Getting Ready For Daytona!

So today has been a pretty long day. I went with some buddies to the mall today just to goof off and get some things before we leave for Daytona next week. I AM SOOO READY!!! It's Saturday night and I still have not packed for the trip. =/ I'm excited yeah for the beach, but I am also excited to see what God has planned for the week. I know some of the things we have planned, but it kinda raises your curiosity to see what God's got going on. =) I think back to last yeah and all the fun we had, but I also look at God things. The things that I felt, the things that I saw, that were totally GOD. Tomorrow is Sunday and more than likely our Pastor will call us up to the front of the church for the elders to pray for us. Now I do like this idea but I am not too excited about going all the way to the front of the church to stand there. Now moving on to next week. . . Crowder is going to be there and I WANT him to sing the song "How He Loves". I absolutely love this song! Also, Tomlin will be leading worship and Louie Giglio will be speaking. Sounds like an amazing line-up right? YES!! But is that the entire reason we are going to camp? What do we look forward to for the week? The good times? The fun? The food? The music? Or. . . do we look at next week looking to God, what will happen to the youth group, to us. It's hard to not look at all the fun, music, and good times. But, one thing that I know is true is that God will be there and He is going to do mighty things. I don't know about you but that kinda raises some curiosity and some excitement. You know that excitement like at a football game and they play the opening song where the players come on field. That kind of excitement that sends chills down your spine; that's the kind of excitement I am talking about. I can remember last year when Tomlin first walked out on stage, he played the song "Let God Arise", I started to feel something, a tingle, a chill; was it the music? Just the idea that I was hearing the music that I had sang for so long coming from the writers mouth? Was that it? It was the fact that I was singing this song, the song I had sang for so long in my bedroom, to myself; I was singing this song to the one and only God, God Almighty. Just the thoughts of that right now is making me a little excited, okay maybe a lot excited. Alright well I need to go get some things ready for the trip and for church tomorrow. Have a good night, I will more than likely be back tonight to talk a little more about the trip. See Ya!

Mistake Fix. . . oops

Hey so I just found out that Kaleigh's sister did very well with the surgery. . . on Tuesday. I kinda got mixed up with the dates. But, she is doing well. Thought I'd just let people know. =)

WHIRLEYBALL!!

So yeah, today is WHIRLEYBALL with the youth. I took off work today just for the two hour Whirleyball, why? Because it's life changing!! Whirleyball is like basketball and lacrosse in bumper cars. Confusing huh? Well anywho that's from 12 to 2 today. After that I'll be back at the house and let you know how things went at whirleyball. So, I kinda didn't blog yesterday and I am sorry, I will make up for it today with two. =)

Also, on a side note, Kaleigh's sister is having surgery today, please just keep her in your prayers.

Have a good day!

One More Week

Okay, so yeah it is kinda hard to find time to type out a summary of what has been going on, I know, hard to imagine. I have been so stinking busy, but right now I have some time. Just wanted to let you guys know that this is the last week of work until Daytona, Florida. =D I cannot wait. Sam, Ben, and I have been talking non-stop about the trip and how psyched we are. We all know that its not all about fun and the beach, and that there is going to be times to be serious. We all had a talk about it at the mall on Sunday. I think we all got it, and we are still pretty excited. The only thing that we really want to do, fun wise, is to go swimming at like 5:00 in the morning, in the ocean. Oh yeah, now we just have to convince Jason. So as of right now I am getting ready for our trip, well lets say adventure; yeah that sounds better. =) I got some new clothes, shoes, flip-flops and sunglasses. OH YEAH, I just ordered a new pair of Oakley Half- Jacket sunglasses, pretty sweet huh? Yeah I'm pretty excited. Alright well I am going to try to blog for the rest of the week each day. I hope I can do it. But, as of right now I have to go, I have to get ready for work. Hope you have a great day, I'll check in later.

My Best Friend Gave Me The Best Advice. . .

I got home from the pool a few mins ago and I am kinda ready to chill before work in the morning. I like work, don't get me wrong, but I like the pool a little more. I am going to be at the pool Wednesday and Saturday for most of the day. I guess I will be ok for the week. ;) Ok so moving on; the title of my blog. I downloaded the song "If Today Was Your Last Day" by Nickelback on Friday. Now I don't recommend going out and buying the album, or any album by Nickelback, but I do think this song is worth downloading or at least listening to. It's a great song that talks about how we need to live like today was our last day. There are soo many songs out there that talk about this concept but this one just seems to be a little more realistic. The first line in the song is the title for my post ("My best friend gave me the best advice") but the second line is one that I think is the most true, "He said each day is a gift and not a given right". That is totally true, each day is a gift, a gift from God, and we don't have an unlimited supply of days. It goes back to the song by Shane and Shane, "Arise". In this song it says "Teach me to number my days, at the most 80 years, who cares about meaningless things". I mean honestly, if "Today Was Your Last Day", are you going to be caring about the time when your best friend took the larger cookie. Umm I would hope not, but we don't know when our last day is. . . so we should treat each day like it is our last day, the last day of our life. This goes back to the song by Nickelback, in the song it asks the question "Could you say goodbye to yesterday?". This is not saying forget about the past, the good, its asking could you forget the small things in the past, the stupid stuff, the grudges you hold; because truthfully they don't matter. These small things are a waste. We spend too much time holding grudges, being mad at others for small stuff. "Would you forgive your enemies?" is another line from Nickelback. I mean it's easy to say, but is it easy to do knowing that right now, today was the last day you would be physically alive on earth. Would it just be simple to say "yes, I forgive all my enemies". I don't know, but it's something to think about. Hope you have a great day, treat it like it's your last. . =)

Off Work For The Day. .

So today I am off work and going to the pool. Pretty awesome huh? I'm pretty psyched about Summer Camp coming up, just F.Y.I. We showed a promo video on Sunday and even though I have seen the video about a million times I still went and downloaded the video on my laptop when I got home. Just call me crazy but I love the video. It's totally worth checking out the video. You need to watch the one titled "Type-Hype". So this year at camp there is gonna be Tomlin leading worship. The best worship leader in the world, in my opinion, well except Jason of course. =) Louie Giglio will be teaching and everyone knows that you can't listen to Louie teach and just walk away the same. So I know it's gonna be a pretty awesome week. Oh also, Crowder and Leeland will be having concerts on different nights throughout the week. So all in all its gonna be pretty exciting. Alright well I am off to the pool, figured I would kinda let people know what's going on. Talk to you later.

BTW David Crowder released a new single that is SUCH A GREAT SONG!!! I have included the lyrics below. It's worth downloading. =)

He is jealous for me,
Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree,
Bending beneath the weight of his wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden,
I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory,
And I realise just how beautiful You are,
And how great Your affections are for me.

And oh, how He loves us so,
Oh how He loves us,
How He loves us all

He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.
Yeah, He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.

We are His portion and He is our prize,
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes,
If grace is an ocean, we’re all sinking.
So Heaven meets earth like an unforeseen kiss,
And my heart turns violently inside of my chest,
I don’t have time to maintain these regrets,
When I think about, the way…

He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.
Yeah, He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.

Resting Up For Another Long Week. . .

So last week was pretty hectic, no time for blogging. With work and a surprise that I will explain in a sec., I had no time to blog. I worked 49 hours last week from Tuesday to Friday. IT WAS A LONG WEEK, to say the least. So yeah, the surprise, well anyway I wanted to surprise Kaleigh (my girlfriend) this week and see her because it has been like a month since I last saw her. We do talk on the phone and chat online, but because of work we have not had any time to get together. So, I decided that since she was leaving for camp on monday and I really wanted to see her, and there was no way that I could get off work for a whole day, I decided I would go to her church and see her. Well I asked my boss if I could get off a little early, talked to Johnny (her youth pastor) and it was all set. Dad said he would take me up to her church after we both got off work. I was a little nervous because we were a little late, but it couldn't have gone better. I walked in the church, up the stairs, and into the youth room and there she was on the front row. Ginger (the youth pastor's wife) went and told her that she thought "Stephen" was here. Kay said that there was no way and just brushed it off. Ginger insisted until she finally turned around and her eyes got sooo big, they would have made a softball look small. =) She was soo happy to see me and I was happy to see her too. We talked for a long time and I got to see her sing in person for the first time, she is SOO GOOD!! It was a great night and later she said that it was the best surprise of her life. That felt pretty cool. =D So she's going to camp next week with no cell; and OH THAT REMINDS ME. I love him to death but Jason announced today at church that there will be no cells or iPods on our camp trip either. I mean seriously. . . . . . . . ok I understand but I mean I want my phone and iPod. =P Goofy Jason. So monday through wednesday are gonna be kinda hectic at work because Corey is out of town with his girl. So I gotta make up for what Corey does. It's gonna be some big shoes to fill.

Well alright I am gonna go get some food and just chill before work starts again tomorrow. I am waiting on a call from Kaleigh but who knows when she will call. =P Have a good week, hopefully I can update you on things later in the week. ttyl

Wow. . . .

So it has been almost like. . . a long time since I've blogged. I know it sounds easy, "all you have to do is type", but it's not that easy. I remember when I used to bug Jason to get him to blog, and now finally when I have one of my own, I cant blog once a week. Ugh. Well hopefully I will start to fix that. It has just been soo busy these past few weeks. With work, church, and other misc. items that occupy my time (iMovie) I haven't had time. So anywho, I got home from work around 7:00 today, it has been a long wet day but I am home at a reasonable time, and it feels pretty good. I am off until Monday, calling it a long weekend. I want to put in as many hours that I can so that I can hopefully get me a truck. I am hoping to save up a lot then get a pretty cool Ford. Corey and I were talking today and he was telling me about his first car, hopefully I can find something along those lines. Well I am stinkin hungry, I have not eaten since like 1:00 today. So maybe there will be another post tonight, depending on whats going on. So ttyl

FINALLY!!!

So finally tomorrow is the last day of the 10th grade year for me. I am excited and a little sad. Many of the kids that I have come to know and love will not be at King's next year and I am a little bummed about that. Also, I don't really like the idea of not being able to see these kids twice a week (yeah especially one person =)) I have got a TON planned for this summer though, and I am starting it off great. Tomorrow is only a half day at King's and after that me and some of the kids from school are going to go eat at Five Guys then go see X-Men: Origins. I heard that the movie is pretty sweet but I will find out tomorrow. Well it's 9:30 and I still have one more final to take or at least study for. I am so sick of these tests and all the school garbage. Ughh Well tomorrow is it, I will let you know how my summer is going to be and how the movie was later.

Signing Off,
Stephen
